Sabotage

A bit more than a year ago (I can’t remember exactly when) I decided to give up ‘Nutter Butters forever. I did this in support of some folks who were trying to “give stuff up”. I also did this because ‘Nutter Butters were beginning to become a pretty serious problem for me.

I’m not generally a give up X forever kind of person. People who say they’re going to give up carbs or give up sodas or give up TV foreverrrrrrrrr because they aren’t healthy just don’t make sense to me. Everything in moderation tends to be my motto. Except, when it comes to ‘Nutter Butters.

They are a problem and I kicked the habit. No ‘Nutter Butters in a year. None.

On Friday Thursday, Michelle and I ran into the grocery store for some junk food and I grabbed a couple of packages of those individually wrapped cookies and crackers – they were two for one. One of those packages contains mini ‘Nutter Butters. I did not, for anything more than a second, consider opening a package (or all of the packages) and eating them.

Today, for some reason, TW placed a package of the ‘Nutter Butters on my bedside table. I noticed it after a trip to the bathroom. I moved the package to HER bedside table and griped at her about it.

She moved the package back to my bedside table and I moved it back to hers.

Then, she moved it so that it is under the glass of my desk, just to the left of my computer. I removed it and handed it to Liz to eat or do what she pleased with. She gave it to Prince J who graciously ate them.

TW is ticking me off.

Why do people feel the need to challenge someone else’s will power. That’s messed up, isn’t it? Someone ought to speak to her about that kind of behavior. Maybe I’ll call her mother and tattle?

My Heartbeat

My Heartbeat is another YA book from the Printz Award Challenge and I picked it up on audio last week. When we started listening to it, I wasn’t impressed and pretty much quit listening after that first couple of chapters.

Yesterday, as we headed to south Florida for synchro, I turned it on again and pretty quickly got hooked. TW, not so much. She hated all of the characters accept “the Father”. I disliked the “Father” a lot and am troubled that he’s the only character that TW liked.

Anyway – I thought it was a good “gay” book. The whole “I’m not gay, I don’t know if I’m gay, but we’re a couple or maybe we aren’t a couple because that would mean we are gay” thing – awesome.

Timing is everything, or nothing at all

Hi. Remember me? The one who occasionally blogs here? I’m starting my days at 5am and being super productive until everything is shot to hell sometime around Noon (either Noon ET or Noon PT, it varies – but it is always Noon in one of those places.) When stuff gets shot to hell, I’m lucky to get out of my inbox alive so blogging. Um, yea. Someday.

Oh well, I did have time to read a lot of great stuff today (or was it yesterday?) and I’ve only got about 15 minutes before I have to drive with Michelle to school…. so, I’m giving you my favorite links of the day.

Ask a Girl (from New Moon) launched. Yay!

Candelaria prayed for brown and then … blah. (the book she mentions is awesome, you should get it if you have kids.)

I’m looking forward to actually watching some of these movie trailer parodies. Someday.

Better interview for Dooce but still not perfect. At least nobody in the segment seemed afraid of the computer.

I would like a horse and a little girl. sniff But not a new monster grill.

Oops, gotta run. Go read and comment and watch and whatever.
