I didn’t have high expectations for Beachglass but it turned out to be a surprisingly good book. And as difficult as the subject matter is, alcohol and drug addiction and AIDS, it was very easy to read. The characters were all likeable – every single one of them, even Delia’s drunk father and enabling mother. Really, a surprisingly good book.
