I like Lisa See’s books. I fully expected to enjoy Shanghai Girls and I did until the end. I don’t understand the ending, unless she plans on a sequel. And even then, really, did she have to turn everything so completely upside down and horrid? It’s not the cliffhanger that I object to, really. It’s the events that lead up to the cliffhanger. Boo hiss!
