Cupcake Toppers

Why not celebrate Diwali with cupcakes? Errr, is that wrong? Can you have cupcakes for Diwali? Topped with Ganesh? or Lakshmi? A “festival of lights” button? Or a Happy Diwali button?

Uh. Yea. So it’s Friday for just a few more hours and I have no cupcake topper for you. Sorry. My life. It’s nuts. So imagine a cupcake topped with… whatever you like. What would you like a cupcake topped with?

Hanks Yarn & Fiber is just a couple of days away from its grand opening. Yay! Time to celebrate with some yarn cupcakes, right? Peace, Love, Knit are quite possibly the best cupcake toppers to celebrate Hanks. Or maybe these Pirate Needle buttons? Or Shiz Knit? Or Stitch this Bitch? Or the Flaming skull knitter? Maybe some daily fiber?

I had no idea I’d find so many buttons aka cupcake toppers to suit the women of Hanks. Awesome. Good luck Ginger, Lorena and Sharon! See you on the 27th!

How much longer will this fascination with pirates and Pirates of the Caribbean continue? Will Turner et al on a cupcake. Okey dokey. It would cost you a zillion dollars to buy enough of these figures for a dozen cupcakes but kids would like them, so it’s worth it, right? These pirate action figures might be a better idea. I’d rather have Jack Sparrow Minifigs but they sure don’t look like Johnny Depp, do they?

Last week I had a frustrating talk with Liz about the dictionary. She doesn’t like it. When I suggested she use an actual dictionary, rather than an online dictionary, for one of her homework assignments, she made the most horrible face I’ve ever seen her make. For a second, I thought she might barf all over the dining room floor. How can you NOT like the dictionary? The kid is weird. Or maybe it’s a rebellion thing since I really like the dictionary and TW LOVES the dictionary. Whatever. Weird. Let’s celebrate Dictionary Day, which is the 16th, with cupcakes. Maybe that will help Liz develop a fondness for the great book of words.

Mini dictionaries for dollhouses are nice. But, even better, look at these vintage dictionary buttons – buttons made from pages of dictionaries. Wow. Damn, sold out – and here I was about to order them. I’m going to have to write to the seller and ask her if she is making more. I wrote, she replied and there are buttons available! I need these. This dictionary button isn’t quite what I am interested in but it might be something you would like. A National Dictionary Day button would work, though the design is a wee bit boring. Of course we can always go with the basic I heart dictionaries button, though not me – I don’t do “I heart”.

In honor of TW’s new job, which starts on Monday, I give you a couple of interesting cupcake toppers. First, mini green apples! Better yet, and really very appropriate, Deviant buttons.

Happy Elephant Appreciation Day! OK so I’m a day early, this just gives you time to run out and find some miniature elephants to grace the cupcakes you obviously will make to celebrate the big day. Since wii are all about the wii right now – wii cupcake toppers are in order, aren’t they? How about the wii remote whistle? At $1.68 a piece you can’t go wrong, can you? A wii remote button or how about an “I love Mii!” button (click these! bright red, cool!)?

Christopher’s birthday was yesterday. He didn’t get cupcakes, he got a chocolate cherry bundt cake made in the microwave. Heh. If I had made him cupcakes, I’d have topped them with WoW buttons or miniature skunks.
