Rainbow Distractions

I am having some trouble concentrating on my work. I look up, see the bookshelves all messy and unorganized and start pondering just how to get them organized. I’ve already insisted on organization by color – but do I want to do genre and color? And should it be a mish mash of shades or should the shelves move light to dark or dark to light. I’m constantly getting up and adding books to the shelves, or moving a book from yellow to orange or blue to green or changing which books sit side by side because their shades clash.

Distracted. Very distracted.

  1. Same thing happened to me this past week Denise. Couldn’t focus on some things because of the disruption of painting and fixing the office up. I still have a couple of things left to do. I never thought of organizing the books in our bookcase by color….wow, what a thought. Although I don’t think I’m up to it. I just took 6 huge plastic bags of paperbacks out of the bookcase and left mostly hardcover copies and volumes. Believe me they alone fill this huge bookcase up. I don’t know how I crammed so much on these shelves….and in the cabinets under the shelves. The paperbacks were mostly my husband’s…who read constantly. Now we’re rationing them off to my kids and Good Will. It was time. It does feel good to get organized though…doesn’t it?
