I’m a pretty lucky person. I’ve won more than my fair shair of raffles and door prizes over the years. But, the luck I’m talking about today is lube luck.
Every year at the GLBT PRIDE festival, the PRIDE committee raffles off baskets of ID Lube, (sometimes they raffle other stuff too), and they have a 50/50 raffle. For the last four years, I’ve been shut out of the winnings just once. And two of those four years, I won two prizes.
Last night, I won the 50/50 raffle (and dropped the winnings into the PRIDE committee donations fishbowl, which is what I did two years ago as well). I also won the medium sized basket of lube. (I won a similar basket three years ago, along with tickets to the ballet) It’s a lot of lube considering we still have more than half of the lube left from that first winning night (most of what’s missing was given away lol). I wonder if some relief organization is in need of lube? Hmmm, I might have to make some calls and find out.
TW wants to know why I don’t play the lottery. Duh, obviously straight girls like my sister win the lottery and gay girls like me win lube. It would be a waste of my money to try and break the rules of luck.
Besides the lube and the 50/50 luck last night, I had a bit more luck show itself. My 19 year old son was wondering around the PRIDE festival wearing an “I love my lesbian mom” button. And when my 15 year old heard about it, she ran off to buy one to wear, too.
Yes, I’m a very lucky woman. Lube and kids who love their lesbian mom. It doesn’t get any better than that, does it?
