I read a total of 200 books in 2011 (well 200 ¾ books since we’re still listening to The Marriage Plot on audio in the car.) Last year I read 229 books, which is why it felt like I wasn’t getting anything read and was falling further and further behind with my challenges and my TBR lists. Considering the kind of year I had – 200’s not too shabby. Here’s the break down:
– I read 3 books for the Adoption Challenge.
– I read 76 books from the Cybils Shortlist. (Completed the challenge – just in time for the new list!)
– Just 6 books From the Stacks, (which doesn’t count the books we acquired during 2011.)
– Just 6 LGBT books – that’s embarrassing, really.
– 10 ¾ books on Audio.
– I marked 86 books as Favorites.
– And, 2 books as Do Not Read.
– I read 43 Non-Fiction books.
– 52 Young Adult.
– 13 Graphic Novels.
– And, 13 Nancy Drews.
I think 200 books is great. I changed my 2012 goal to 100 books once I realized I’d read AND logged 88 books in GoodReads for 2011. I was good about not buying tons of books this year too. Thank goodness for Free Fridays with my Nook Color!
I am just amazed at your ability to read that many books, regardless of their length/genre/reading level…it’s just awesome. I’ve finally admitted to myself that I’m a slow-ish reader, but I’m not inspired to dedicate more time to it and double my reading goal from last year. Where are the books that you marked “Do Not Read”?
I had a few Did Not Finish books this year that I gave up on purpose. I never used to do that. It felt rather freeing to give up on that.
Yay 200 books!
