I am always growling at TW about her heating pad fetish. She leaves it on. She lays on it. She basically breaks every heating pad rule in the book and I don’t like it. And poor Gatorland’s fire proves I have good reason to growl at her. Yet her response to this… it’s not the same thing, my heating pad isn’t in a snake exhibit. Huh.

I use my heating pad sparingly but love it. Can’t sleep with it though.
I’m scared of electric blankets though. I had one that shorted on me when I was a teen. I turned it off in a state of semi-sleep one night because I got really hot. The next morning we noticed that sections of my sheets were completely scorched…to the point of holes. To this day I don’t understand how they didn’t actually catch fire…
I am anti-electric blanket too and I’m not sure when that started. I used one after my sister was born and I had a new bedroom that had NO HEAT and I never worried about it. My parents never even suggested I SHOULD be careful with it.
In the attic in SC, no heat again except little space heaters and TW kept pushing electric blanket but I resisted. Now, we have one, and TW is making noises about using it, hmph! In Florida, we should not need such a thing! (even if we do keep the window open a smidge)
you and J, with the nagging about heating pads…I’m going to have to talk to TW about the joys of using the blanket and pad together…
Lee, you & TW are scaring me, sweetie! Don’t make me put on my mom-the-fire marshall attitude!
