I don’t like sock monkeys

I’m not a fan of sock monkeys and I wasn’t all that thrilled with “Dickie” the sock monkey in Penn Jillette’s (yes from Penn & Teller) Sock. What a weird book. Weird isn’t generally a bad thing and it was probably the weird that made this worth reading. I mean sock monkeys. NYC police diver. Gay hairdresser. Serial Killer. Lots of dead people. And Proust. If that isn’t a weird combination then I don’t know what is.

  1. You know…I’m really not sure if I’ve ever read a complete self help book… Oh wait, I once owned one of SARK’s books (and I actually read it). Does that count?

  2. Giggle what is most interesting is this comment about self help books appears in the sock monkey book blog entry. I don’t think Sock could be even remotely considered a self help book!

    😉

Yes SARK’s books do count. You have read self help books – those finance books are self help books, sweets.
