Anyone But You was pretty darn amusing – for a mindless bit of chick lit for 40ish women. Particularly mindless chick lit for 40ish women who like dogs.
Nothing new or unusual happened in the book. Older woman meets younger man. Older woman and younger man are both attracted and have to figure out how to make a move, when to make a move and why to make a move. Moves were made and then older woman tries to screw it up because she’s sure the younger dude couldn’t love her old flabby body and younger dude tries to screw it up because he’s sure the older woman wants a more high money/high profile kind of life. The dog, of course, pretty much saves the day – with a little help from the dysfunctional brother and dysfunctional best friend.
Even though there wasn’t anything “new or unusual” it was fun and I like fun.

Do you like movies? A chick flick that reminds me of your post minus the focus on the dog is “The Love Letter” ~ It is one of my all time favorite movies. Kate Capshaw, Ellen Degeneres, Tom Selleck- your probably thinking- ew! yuck for a cast but it really is a great movie!
OK I have seen a lot of movies in my day but this one is not ringing a bell. Capshaw, Degeneres and Selleck? Who was in love with who in this flick ’cause it all seems unrealistic! I’ve got to go and check this out.
Selleck is in love with Capshaw but Degeneres thinks Selleck is in love with her but really Capshaw is in love with…. someone else… but not any of the above. It’s a great movie. Takes place in a fisherman wharf town- Capshaw owns an old book store… Did I mention it’s great? 🙂
Ohhhhhhhhhhh I remember that movie now. I came across it on tv once. I don’t think I saw the whole thing though.
TW says she remembers this movie but did not see it. Interesting. If I ever get my Video card back from my wayward son, I’ll see about renting it.
