Do you know what the worst thing is about reading a Christopher Moore book? Finishing it and knowing you’re going to have to wait far too long til the next one appears on the shelf. The man is brilliant. Totally and completely brilliant. Not to mention clever and funny.
A Dirty Job takes place in San Francisco and the Emperor is back with his loyal canine companions. A couple of other characters from Coyote Blue and Bloodsucking Fiends and are in there too. (For those who’ve read both of those books, A Dirty Job isn’t a vampire book so don’t pick it up thinking it is.)
Sigh, I want another Christopher Moore book to read. Tell me I’m not going to have to wait another year or {gasp} more!

I have got to pick this book up. I’ve only read a couple of his books, but I think I need to expand on that. thanks for the review!
I only read ‘Lamb’ but I loved it. I guess I have the great fortune to have all the rest of his works out there waiting for me to read them. Any recommendations as to which I should tackle first?
Fausti – you haven’t read Fluke? You must read that (or listen to it on audio, that was great fun!). Then, I’d probably read them in the order that they were published because he has crossover characters (which I love) or makes reference to characters in other books.
TW says Island of the Sequined Love Nun was the best but I’m inclined to say Lust Lizard of Melancholy Cove was best.
Then of course there is the Stupidest Angel (which has a zillion of the characters from Love Nun and Lust Lizard) which you should read/listen to on audio at Christmas time.
Read and review, I’m anxious to hear what you think.

Karen, which of his books have you read? Lamb? Fluke?
Thanks! I’ll start with Fluke and work my way through. I’ll let you know what I think as I go through them.
I’ve read Fluke & Lamb-
I’m enjoying your blog- I’m finally bookmarking it.
Fluke and Lamb are excellent, now you need to read Lust Lizard and Coyote Blue and everything else after.
I’m glad you’re enjoying yourself here. 🙂
