Well, as suspected, Inheritance of Loss is the 2006 Booker Prize winner. I haven’t read it yet and now that it has won I have some irrational desire NOT to read it. Weird, eh? Ah well, it is on my shelf waiting patiently so I will give it a go… after I finish Carry Me Down. (In the Company of Men is still on my reserve list at the library and I will read that too, eventually.)
I would like to thank the folks who blogged about the short listed books on the Man Booker Prize Blog. I really enjoyed reading their thoughts about each of the books and following their progress through the stacks.

I’m giving you fair warning that the GG list will be announced next week and I will start my now annual reviews of potentiall elusive Canadian books. 😉
I keep wondering if Birth House will be on the list…
Yea yea I know. I’m thinking about boycotting your book blog for the duration. Those Canadian books are harder to get than the Brit books.
The GG’s could be interesting this year. Atwood has several books that are eligible. Munro has a new collection of short stories out. Then there’s the Birth House. And who only knows what books that I haven’t heard of yet that are out. The Giller is all books put out by tiny presses… And you know you won’t *really* boycott my blog as it can take me months to get books. 😉
