101 Things Update

I’ve lost interest in my list, in case you hadn’t noticed. I’d like to burn it and start over. My life doesn’t seem to work in a “3 year plan” sort of way. But, I’m not burning the list. I’ll just hang onto it and see what happens and try again when this one is officially over. Anyway, on to the update.

I read another classic but I need to go back and figure out what my original definition of classic was. I know I talked about that with Karen and some of the others in the private place but I don’t think those posts exist anymore so I’ll have to redefine without that to reflect on.

We also finished another book on audio. I’m heading upstairs in a minute to take another audio book from Prince J’s room. (I hope he’s finished it, heh.)

I sent my brother a text message – actually two – so I think that counts. Based on his skill with Txt spk I think he probably prefers text over phone calls, just like I do.

I’m halfway through my 12 hour Mrs Peel marathon. I’ll have finished it by the end of this weekend – whether TW likes it or not!

I’ve saved money again and suspect I’ll be saving a ton of money for the next few months so maybe I’d better run and donate some while I can. Where should I give a donation? Convince me of your cause…

101 Things Update

Slow month, but December is like that – right?

– I just finished cleaning both my feed reader and my bookmarks. Seriously deep cleaning on both.
– We saved money this month, odd but it happened.
– That weekend at Isle of Palms thing, I’m hanging onto it because the four days at Folly Beach was not quite what I had in mind for the Isle of Palms weekend. It was close… but I think we can do IoP.
– I’m considering registering for SXSW this week. If I register, I’ll go. The question is… who else is going? That’s really the only thing that has stopped me from registering.

So. Yea. Slow Month.

101 Things Update

Well.  Less than a year to go on the challenge.  Back when I started, it seemed like I had a lifetime of time to get this stuff done.  Ha.  Time flies.  Just like You and I…

So, one more book on audio down.  I can definitely get this one complete within the time left.  Easy.

I cleaned my bookmarks again last week and am slowly weeding them down to less than 100.  Heh.  I’d like to get to less than 50, not counting the stuff in the folders I use for work and stuff.  Think I can?

There for awhile I thought TW was going to take control of my bread baking item but she gave that up – after the first week.  So, I guess I’ll have to give it a go myself.

I did hang some pictures on the wall but I’m not counting that ’cause it’s just the pictures that were over my old desk in the original office.  Moving pix from one wall to another was not what I had in mind when I added that to the list.  But, I’m gonna hold off on this one ’til next month ’cause I have this weird history with hanging pictures.  I’m superstitious that way…

Made good progress on using the hot tub – look for this one to be finished in January.

Michelle’s got three colleges on her list that she hadn’t originally considered.

We saved money again in November but of course we’re about to spend it but at least it was saved, for awhile.  Heh.

And, last but not least, I took a day off work. Ha.  The sky fell but I did it and I don’t want to see any comments about the phone calls I took that day or the emails I answered or the fire I reported.  That was a day off.

101 Things Update

What in the heck happened to October? Last time I checked it was somewhere around the 15th. I do believe someone stole a whole two weeks from the month. Which would explain why I have so very little to cross off the list this month.

*Updated* How could I forget one of the most important things on the list was accomplished in October?  The cats. Have been. Spayed.  This does not mean Chris’s stupid cat will stay outside and away from me.  Oh no it does not.  She is under my feet right now trying to contaminate me with her germs – which make my eyes itch.  Bah.

Another book on audio bites the dust, now I need another book on audio and have no idea what to choose.

I’m thinking of scratching coffee with Leona off of the list. Not because I don’t love Leona but because TW has taken my place in that coffee with her thing – as it should be.

TW and I had a mommy weekend for my birthday.

I’ve saved money again, all the better to spend it on Prince J’s birthday gift, eh?

Also cleaned out my bookmarks. My spurls no longer exist and I can’t imagine ever trying to clean out all of my deli.cio.us accounts. I’ve started cleaning out my Evernote at the same time as my bookmarks and that’s working really well for me.

I believe Jenn is coming to Florida next month and I plan on taking a full day off of work (hi Lisa!) and spending a day with her. I also plan on getting pictures sorted and stuff hung on the walls (which will make TW nervous and make me laugh.) Hmmm what else will I do in November? Probably not much – and I’m less than a year away from my deadline, argh!

101 Things Update

October 1 is always a pretty good day for me. October 1 means I made it through another hell month aka September. I hate September.

I would like to say that I got a ton of things done from my 101 things list but that would be a lie. At least I didn’t expect to get much done. Alright, moving down the list…

We listened to a book on audio and what a great book it was. Thank you John Green!

Yea! I just updated my blogroll after months and months of not even thinking about it. (You’ll notice I still haven’t finished fixing the template or editing all of those broken links in the archives. Now that October is here, I plan on doing a little bit of “blog cleaning” every day. Not that this is at all related to my 101 things, I’m just sayin.)

I called my SISTER which is not on my 101 things list but should be worth crossing 2 call my brothers off of the list. But I guess that would be cheating. Someone remind me to call my brother this month, ok?

OK that drink only water thing, I think someone put this on my list while I wasn’t looking because I surely would never have put something THIS stupid on there. I haven’t even considered trying to scratch this one off. I have, however, successfully avoided opening a can of soda or ordering soda at restaurants for a month. So tomorrow I’m going to work on the only water thing. Wish me luck, I will totally need it.

Does Wii play count as “Family Game Day” I think it must since I had bruises to show for it.

I had to re-think that whole save my paycheck/donate my paycheck thing. But I have a new plan (to go with my new job) and I managed both this month.

The most important thing on the entire list was completed. I’m proud. I managed to watch all six of the Star Wars movies without falling asleep. It was touch and go for me during a few of them (and Prince J dozed his way through one, hahaha) but I did it. And I’m glad. And I’m really glad that I will never have to watch another Star Wars again. Ever.

101 Things Update

Look! An update! Only one day into a new month. Does this mean I’m not nearly as stressed as previous months? Or does it mean I’m organized to the limit because I am stressed? Care to guess? OK enough playing around, on with the update which again is boring as hell.

We attempted another book on audio but it was a cassette and cassette 2 refused to play. HMPH. I need to see if I have any books on audio reserved, I’m wondering if we should try Eclipse on audio since the reviews have been less than stellar…. maybe the audio would improve things?

I’m tempted to remove the spend the day in a bookstore from the list – or consider it done – since we spend just about every Sunday in a bookstore. Granted, it isn’t a bookstore I enjoy spending time in but I do still sift the racks and soak up words that I would not otherwise soak up.

The biggest news of the month, in terms of the 101 list, is that I was able to stay awake through the original three Star Wars movies. (For you young folks who are confused, that would be episodes 4,5 and 6.) Prince J and I plan to sit through the other three very soon. As expected, Return of the Jedi was very difficult for me to stay awake for. I cannot figure out why so many people told me that was their favorite of the original three. BORING. Ho freaking hum.

And last but certainly not least we made it six months without Gator Food.

101 Things Update

I hate it that August always sneaks up on me. August is the month of birthdays leading into 3 more months of birthdays. This is not something that should sneak up on me, damn it. But it always does.

So, looking at the 101 list for July. Not much progress anywhere.

A book on audio.
I cleaned my bookmarks.
I had coffee with Leona
We’re on month 5 of no gator food. One more month to go. I’m surprised we’ve lasted this long – and it was very tempting to order the first few days after returning from BlogHer Con. Very temtping.

101 Things Update

So it’s 101 things update time. June was moving pretty slowly there for awhile but the last couple of weeks just flew by. Amazing how that can happen.

We saved a good chunk of money in June, which was good since we’re about to spend a considerable amount of money this month and in August. (Do you know how many birthdays we have to celebrate in August? You might since I’ve blogged about this issue before!)

Let’s see – what else did I do in June?

* An audio book was scratched off the list.
* I started to clean out my spurls and bookmarks but realized spurl has not been working properly for quite some time so I gave up, imported it all to del.icio.us and then was so overwhelmed by the mess of tags that I gave up. I really need to go through my del.icio.us but I hate the UI so I’m avoiding it.
* See that section way down at the bottom, the one related to work? Well I think I might have to scratch what’s left there since I have a new job. I’m not sure. I probably still need vacation sometime in the next 452 days, don’t I?

101 Things Update

Let’s see, what did I accomplish in May? Not a whole heck of a lot, I think.

We did listen to a book on audio. A good book on audio. TW reminded me that we listened to two books on audio, two good books on audio! This is going more slowly than I expected it would.

I did clean out my RSS feeds last week so that’s scratched off the list. Unfortunately I haven’t developed a strong pattern of doing this. I had hoped I’d get into a routine and it would become a habit – one I’d end up sticking with. I don’t think that has happened.

No blogroll update though I keep thinking about doing it. Maybe later this week. Again, I’d hoped to develop a schedule that turned into a habit. Hasn’t happened.

TW and I did have a mommy & me weekend, Mother’s Day weekend.

I’m working on that gardening supplies thing. I’d say I’m about half-way there. I got distracted with working in the yard and need to finish that before I get back to really clearing out and organizing.

We’re doing well with the gator food thing – we’re on our 3rd month. Yea us!

Not having much luck finding the perfect house, though we’ve looked at many.

We did save money but then we turned around and spent it so I’m not counting it lol. Maybe next month, knock on wood!

And that’s that. Not great but not bad really.

On another note, Michelle has created a 101 things list. She hasn’t shown it to me but occasionally mentions she is doing something on her list (like cleaning her room, playing her sax, researching colleges). Cool, eh?

101 Things Update

Look an update! On time! Unfortunately I don’t have much to cross off!

We did go visit my mom.

We did stop at an unusual roadside attraction (that would be SoB and I dare you to say it doesn’t count!)

We tried to listen to a book on audio, got through 5 of the 7 tapes and gave up because it was bad. We’re listening to another now, that I know we will finish because we love Mma Ramotswe on audio.

I wonder if next month I’ll have more to cross out… probably not. Darn it.
