I was soooo grouchy yesterday. I woke up grouchy today. All of the people attempting to defend the creators and supporters (and by support I mean commenters, linkers and readers) of meankids. What are they thinking?
Meankids wasn’t satire and it wasn’t sarcasm and it wasn’t snark. It was bullying, manipulation, attack, and hatred. That’s it. If you want to defend that, then who ARE you?

I must say I’ve been a bit shocked by the number of people who have basically said “But they just owned the site, they didn’t *write* it. I get that they are thought of as “good people” but good people don’t always perform good acts. I consider myself responsible for what appears on my blog – be it content or comments.
But then again, I don’t get the whole mean thing either.
I also haven’t blogged about it because my thoughts aren’t coherent enough to articulate anything at the moment.
There is a lot of hypocrisy and posturing going on over this, but really there just isn’t a defense for meankids to have been in existence.
I caught up on three days worth of reading tonight. The good thing about reading three days worth is that it gives a nice high level overview of the shifting winds and crosscurrents. I have more to say but I doubt I’ll say it much better than you did here.
