  1. It must be love. 🙂

Those socks have different colors, and stripes! They don’t look trivial to make at all.

I can’t knit. Or sew. I just left a whiny comment on sassymonkey’s blog, saying that I tried knitting, and sewing, and I just can’t seem to GET it.

  2. I couldn’t knit. I couldn’t sew (but made a quilt). The entertainment value in watching me try has made many a happy family member. Love makes you do strange things…in my case it is makes me doggedly teach myself things I have no clue how to do and/or have shown myself to be particularly BAD at doing.

  3. Perhaps the problem is that my motivation wasn’t love but rather wanting to make my own fabulous clothes.

Last year I took a FOUR-HOUR (!) private (!) sewing lesson and made the most ridiculous, crooked, ugly skirt you have ever seen. For my dear family members, watching me put it on at the end of the lesson definitely had a huge entertainment value. But after the laughter subsided, I gave up on ever sewing again.
