Daily Dose of Television – Troubadours

Amy Sherman-Palladino almost redeemed herself with last night’s Gilmore Girls – almost.  I was with her right up til the very end and then she blew it.

The town full of troubadours – loved it so much I cannot even begin to tell you how much.  Taylor being unable to kick the bums out of town, awesome.  Luke calling and calling and calling and Patti and Baryshnikov was pure Gilmore Girls fab.  Rory getting put in her place by the vile Mitchum was almost worth the entire spoiled brat Logan storyline- almost.  The goodbye scene was nicely played by both Rory and Logan. FND was excellent.  The therapy scene in the driveway, not so great but ok.  Lorelai confronting Luke and then leaving – priceless.  But that last scene.  That very last scene.  Lorelai. Christopher. Gigi.  Not. Right. At. All.

Goodbye Palladinos,  it was good while it lasted, or until this season – let’s hope we have a better year in Stars Hollow, next year.

  1. I would have enjoyed the bandathon much more if there were a few less of them and more of them had been given dialogue … that said, seeing young Coco gigging with mama Gordon bouncing around to that lewd little ditty on the town square was priceless

  2. I loved the troubadours and loved seeing my favorite actress from 24 (she plays Chloe – the show is almost worth watching just for her quirky character) as one of them.

And Miss Patty’s bit about Baryshnikov was – I swear – almost word for word what a friend once said about his performance in that movie. *LOL* And I loved how Miss Patty automatically helped Lorelei. Love how the townspeople look out for her and Rory.

But ya, Christopher. *sigh* I said to you elsewhere I’d heard this was going to happen but hoped it was a deliberate misdirect leaked to the ‘net. No such luck.

  3. Hey Keith – I need to find a list of who all of the troubadours were. I knew some but others were familiar but I just couldn’t place them. I’m glad they didn’t have more lines, the troubadour shouldn’t have any lines, he/she should just sing. That’s they way it is in Stars Hollow.

Sigh Ms Hag, depressing isn’t it? I had hoped those rumors were wrong too.
