I now watch three television shows a week. Survivor is not even worth blogging about, at this point. So let us just ignore that one for now, ok? Instead, I’m going to rant about two of the best shows on TV. Well one of them USED to be one of the best shows on TV, sigh.
Gilmore Girls post Palladinos is not great. It wasn’t great last year with Palladino but darn it, I want GREAT. I hate, hate, HATE Christopher and Lorelai. Actually I just plain hate Christopher. And that whole Gigi/Sherry thing was idiotic. The only good thing about last night’s Chris/Lor relationship was Emily calling them derelicts. That was awesome. The rest, it stinks and Emily is awesome without the stink that is Lorelai and Chris in a relationship. And, I was stupid enough to look at the fall sweeps spoilers and if the GG rumors are true I may destroy my television when it happens. Suckage – pure suckage. (I did, enjoy picklegate and I did enjoy Rory/Logan – even the whining at the end by Rory and Logan’s manipulation of her whining. It’s excellent and will lead to a nice little end to their relationship – which, I’m so totally looking forward to. That is what’s going to happen, right?)
Now about Dexter. I loved the books. I’ve loved the television. But I was sorely disappointed in last night’s serious deviations from the book. Small deviations, I dig. I understand. I fully support. But last night, one was particularly troubling. The dog incident. That is not what happened in the book. I won’t tell you what did happen in the book, in case the television folks decide to add that element in somewhere later – which they totally should do. I’ve been really impressed with the lack of changes and if there are going to be more, I’m going to be seriously unhappy…. Dexter, the book, is awesome and it makes great TV. Don’t screw with that, people. Stick to the BOOK.
OK I’m done angsting for the day. Back to work!
I actually skipped GG and watched “Nova” instead. I’m seriously disappointed. Seriously. I so much can’t stand Christopher that I can’t even watch. It’s just… ew.
Very early in the show last night, I turned my head and closed my eyes. I just couldn’t watch. YUK.
It is very ew. Sigh 🙁
Okay, I hated Rory’s whining. It was just plain boring. Even the commercial about it was boring.
It has got to the point that I watch GG almost entirely in the hopes of seeing Emily and Richard in fine form. And they didn’t disappoint last night. I LOVED how happy Emily was in her conversation, totally oblivious to it being due to Lorelei being miserable and silent. And I loved it when Richard’s eyes lit up at the mention of cell phone pics of Emily in jail. *LOL* He is such a delight at times. (And no, I’ve not forgotten the cruelty of both of them.)
Dexter is now on my list for future dvd watching. You’ve got me convinced even if you were disappointed with last night’s episode.
Me, I remain really impressed with Heroes, but definitely not a show for kids. (Monday nights, Denise. *eg*)
BTW, if you’re looking for some of that early GG town quirkiness, try Men in Trees on Friday nights. 😉
The aerie girls are always stupid so that totally does not count.
Rory’s whining was pretty real though and damn honest. Logan is a twit and Rory whining about that was GOOD. Much better than pretending she wasn’t upset by it.
Men in Trees, what the heck is THAT? No don’t tell me because I simply will not watch any other TV shows particularly not Heroes because I hate Jess more than Logan lol.
We haven’t seen Tuesday’s episode yet, but last week’s with Luke & April – what a boring waste of space. I hate April, I hate that storyline, I hate Luke unless he’s pouring coffee. If they want to add filler scenes, they should use Paris or Lane…or even Taylor, sheesh.
I don’t hate Christopher like everyone else does, and if he could be in the position of making sure Luke & Lorelai never date again, I’m okay with him.
I think the new writers need to realize the show is called “Gilmore Girls” for a reason. It’s not “Luke’s Boring & Annoying Family”. They don’t have to continue the storylines that the Palladinos mucked up, they need to continue the good ones.
And “Heroes”…is great! But, if you want a replacement for GG, then Veronica Mars is the ticket. Rent Seasons 1 & 2, and be happy, happy, happy.
This season of Survivor is simply terrible.
