Oh boy. I finished Vilette, finally. Harder to finish than The Moonstone or Vanity Fair. Harder because my French is the pits and there is a lot of French. Not a bad book but not great either.
Another A to Z challenge book – complete. And, another “classic” for my 101 things list.
Onward to kids lit, I need a break from the tough stuff.

I said this morning on Twitter that we had successfully decorated the house and tree last night – with all six children (and two extra significant others) and no fights or meltdowns. This was true. But the Advent Calendar Angst has begun – quietly, so far.
I was searching through the last box for the advent calendar and concerned because I hadn’t seen it. Chris informed me that it was already up. Michelle got to it and hung it. This led to quite the discussion between me, Chris and Jenn about the calendar and the mouse and Michelle.
All evening long, the children waged the battle of the mouse. Someone put it in the December 1 pouch (ie Michelle) and someone else came along and moved it to the 24th. It was put back in the 1st pouch and again moved to the 24th. Over and over. All night.
It’s December 2nd and I’m wondering who is going to move the mouse – and which child (or children) will interfere and move it to the wrong pouch. Kids are crazy.

Well. Less than a year to go on the challenge. Back when I started, it seemed like I had a lifetime of time to get this stuff done. Ha. Time flies. Just like You and I…
So, one more book on audio down. I can definitely get this one complete within the time left. Easy.
I cleaned my bookmarks again last week and am slowly weeding them down to less than 100. Heh. I’d like to get to less than 50, not counting the stuff in the folders I use for work and stuff. Think I can?
There for awhile I thought TW was going to take control of my bread baking item but she gave that up – after the first week. So, I guess I’ll have to give it a go myself.
I did hang some pictures on the wall but I’m not counting that ’cause it’s just the pictures that were over my old desk in the original office. Moving pix from one wall to another was not what I had in mind when I added that to the list. But, I’m gonna hold off on this one ’til next month ’cause I have this weird history with hanging pictures. I’m superstitious that way…
Made good progress on using the hot tub – look for this one to be finished in January.
Michelle’s got three colleges on her list that she hadn’t originally considered.
We saved money again in November but of course we’re about to spend it but at least it was saved, for awhile. Heh.
And, last but not least, I took a day off work. Ha. The sky fell but I did it and I don’t want to see any comments about the phone calls I took that day or the emails I answered or the fire I reported. That was a day off.

Bah, just lost my post which was no doubt much better than the one I’m about to recreate now. Hmph…
Anyway, I was telling you that I stumbled across a YA book on audio called Chicks With Sticks: Knit Two Together when Prince J and I went to the library a couple of weekends ago. I grabbed it to make TW smile, which it did. It also has made us both smile for the last two weeks when we listened to it in the car.
It’s a fun book and I’m betting a fun series. YA, chick lit, yarny goodness (do I sound all knitty?) with a lot of blogging and social networking high schooly stuff thrown in for good measure.
I need to figure out what “Yarn Over” means though.
