I really really do want to go Google free. Someday I’ll do it. I swear. First step – goodbye Google search, hello Bing. I’m going to try and make the search engine change in April. Stay tuned for more on that next month. I have to work up to this, Google has infiltrated every part of my life and I have had enough.

Liz went through the Smoothie cookbook to find recipes she would be interested in making. She’s opposed to dog-earing pages (good for her!) but didn’t have enough bookmarks – or small papers to use as bookmarks. So she improvised – with large pieces of paper, a pop tart package (with a piece of poptart inside), some fabric, some candy wrappers, and who knows what else.
The child is weird.

I want rainbow pancakes for breakfast – at least four times during PRIDE month (which is June for you non-queer calendar folks.) These are the best PRIDE pancakes EVER. I know, June is really very far away but I’m cold and I’m ready for warm weather. And rainbow pancakes. Maybe TW should do a trial run this weekend, just to make sure she can do them in June?

TW is a #momspotter and has a #momspotter meme that she’d like folks to take. I figured I’d play along. I do work for BlogHer.com, (though I’ve not been asked by BlogHer.com to join the meme.)
Here goes:
1. Which expensive electronic device do you or your children most admire? Well…. Let’s see. We’re almost all fans of the iPhone and almost all of us have iPhones. We really like the Macbook Air, and some of us have them. I’m kind of partial to the iPad and if I ever stumble across an extra $700, I’ll buy one.
2. Do you ever use your computer in the kitchen? NO. Definitely NOT.
3. What ratio of new recipes cooked in your home come from the Internet vs from a cookbook you own? I would know this how? I don’t cook. Hah.
4. Does your family regard a recipe as something printed from the computer, on a handwritten card or something on the kitchen netbook? Interesting question. I think they freak out by recipes from handwritten cards. It’s the memory of the asparagus jell-o…
5. Do you have a television or other electronic entertainment in the kitchen? No. No. No. NO.
6. What is the eating in front of the computer rule in your house? I almost always eat in front of the computer. I don’t have a problem with it but if you spill something on your computer, you’re going to have to pay for a new one… or do without. Right Chris?
7. How many places can you order dinner online from in your area? NOT ENOUGH.
8. What is the BEST recipe you have ever made from the Internet? Chocolate covered cherries. Yep. I made these. From a recipe given to me on a message board.
9. What’s the least used kitchen gadget in your home? The Mr Bartender. http://blip.tv/file/get/Dtanton-MrBartender995.wmv
10. What is the oddest recipe your family has tried after seeing it on the Internet? After asparagus jell-o, nothing is really odd.
