No wonder Kelly is so cool

HER mom is in The Vagina Monologues.

So, not so much education-ish, but my mom asked if I’d ever seen The Vagina Monologues to which I replied, “Sure I have. Why?” and then she proceeded to tell me that she is in a stage version of it to play here at the local community college. She was heading off to her rehearsal and trying to get off the phone with me. Now, I’m certainly nonplussed by this woman so it was nothing for me to say, “Ok. See you later. Good lu…err…break a hymen.” She was nonplussed to hear it from me.

I wish my mom was that cool.

101 Things Update

I’ve lost interest in my list, in case you hadn’t noticed. I’d like to burn it and start over. My life doesn’t seem to work in a “3 year plan” sort of way. But, I’m not burning the list. I’ll just hang onto it and see what happens and try again when this one is officially over. Anyway, on to the update.

I read another classic but I need to go back and figure out what my original definition of classic was. I know I talked about that with Karen and some of the others in the private place but I don’t think those posts exist anymore so I’ll have to redefine without that to reflect on.

We also finished another book on audio. I’m heading upstairs in a minute to take another audio book from Prince J’s room. (I hope he’s finished it, heh.)

I sent my brother a text message – actually two – so I think that counts. Based on his skill with Txt spk I think he probably prefers text over phone calls, just like I do.

I’m halfway through my 12 hour Mrs Peel marathon. I’ll have finished it by the end of this weekend – whether TW likes it or not!

I’ve saved money again and suspect I’ll be saving a ton of money for the next few months so maybe I’d better run and donate some while I can. Where should I give a donation? Convince me of your cause…

Our Yearly Shakespeare

Were you here, four years ago, when Michelle came home for school? If you were, then you might have been reading one of our homeschool blogs and realize that Michelle likes Shakespeare. You might also realize that once a year TW, Michelle and I go to see a performance of one of Shakespeare’s plays.

1.Midsummer Night’s Dream

2. Hamlet

3. Romeo & Juliet

4. Julius Caesar

That’s right, we attended our yearly Shakespeare event on Tuesday by attending the Aquila Theatre performance at the Phillips Center (one of the ten good things about living in this town.)

I like Julius Caesar. It’s one of my favorite Shakespeare plays. I don’t think either Michelle or TW would consider this one of their top five plays – but since the yearly Shakespeare is a tradition, they went along.

I will admit that I had considerable difficulty with the WW1 costuming. I liked Cassius as a woman. Marc Antony was excellent. I just plain like Julius Caesar.

I wonder what sort of Shakespeare production we will see next year. The yearly Shakespeare is a tradition that should be maintained long after Michelle has left high school and homeschool behind.

How do I get paid to blog?

I hear this question all of the time. All. Of. The. Time. The people who have taken my suggestions are making money online. (Some more than others, but that’s the way life works.) Those who ignore my suggestions are probably not making any money online right now. If you’ve ignored me because you need to hear from someone smarter or cooler than I am, here’s your chance.

Lisa Stone – watch this video first – and Susan Wagner – watch this one after Lisa’s.

These women are brilliant and I am very, very lucky to work with them. Very lucky. Now you’re lucky too because you can learn from them if you watch these ABC news pieces and take their advice.
